Just wanted to propose some changes to the keyboard shortcut... the current setup is calbert wrote:Added keyboard shortcuts for movement, actions and some dialog windows
Movement:
W = North
S = South
D = East
A = West
Q = Northwest
E = Northeast
Z = Southwest
X = Southeast
Up Arrow = Up
Down Arrow = Down
Other
C = Character Sheet
V = Spellbook
B = Main Backpack
M = Map
1 - 0 = Actions slots
Enter Key = Sets focus to the command input text box
IMO having 'S' as south should be changed to 'X' then change 'Sounteast' to 'C' and then change 'Character Sheet' to 'P' (for profile) and then change 'Spellbook' to 'S' reasonsMain reason is that it would keep the movement ones in a logical pattern (south between southwest and southeast) in a circular formation. It then also frees up the 'S' key which is able to be used for Spells which seems more applicable for spells than 'V' does... My $0.02  My Perenthia CharactersErnzorCavey

The reason I went with the S as south is that is pretty standard keyboard movement across varying types of games. WASD has been used for long time for regular movement and people's motor skills might be trained to that, like mine are. :) However, if everyone wants it changed that is fine, maybe this is something that could be customized later on?

thats fair enough, I guess I have been out of the PC gaming loop for a little while now. While I was gaming in it, I do remembe rusing the WASD combo for movement in FPS games, but other than that, I cannot say. I was just drawing from recent browser game experience and the fact that rather than 4 movements WASD, you now have 8. If it was 4 I would 100% agree. But adding in the NW, NE, SW, SE commands I tend to "move" my fingers towards what I posted. I guess it does come down to each person though... Having it customisable might be nice, but dont worry for now... My Perenthia CharactersErnzorCavey

I prefer the WASD setup, but I like the idea of changing character sheet to P for profile and moving SE to the C key.

I will change the SE direction to the C key and the Character Sheet/Profile to the P key for now.
